What Inspires You?

For me.. it's everything and anything that I see, touch and feel.  I am inspired by the past like childhood stories, fairy tales that I read when I was a kid.

When I was little, I love to read, especially Enid Blyton books about fairies, gnomes, goblins, dwarves etc.  I would often imagine a separate world co-existing with ours.  As I sleep at night, they are out dancing, using toadstools as seats and tables, making flower petals and leaves into dresses, fireflies as lamps.  That's the world that I imagine around me.

Such fantasies and dreams inspire me in my creations.

What inspires you?

{ Inspired } Modern Twist to Fairytales

Stumbled upon this artist when I was reading through the top 10 blogs that my sister recommended. Love his take on the classic fairy tales by giving them a modern twist. The posters reminded me of some of my jewelry pieces that were my rendition of the classic fairy tales. Here are some of my favorites from his collection.

Goldilocks & the Three Bears
Papa bowl was too hot, Mama bowl was too cold and Baby bowl was just right.

The Princess and the Pea
Different layers of mattresses denoted by the colors and the tiny "bump" on each layer made by the pea.

LinkThe Three Little Pigs
What each house is made of (i.e. straw, wood, brick)

Here are more.
