Uniquely Singapore Wedding Dinner

I just came back from my primary school (from age 7 - 12) friend's wedding dinner. The dinner was delish. The menu was not the usual Chinese dinner (8 / 9 course of auspicious Chinese meals including shark fins, mushrooms, fish, noodles). Instead if was a variety of local (Singaporean) cuisines.

Here's what I had. Of cos, it is presented individually with a more classy setting.

  1. Bak Kut Teh
  2. Chilli Crab with Man Tou
  3. Steam Cod Fish
  4. Laksa
  5. Kebabs
  6. Cheong Fan
  7. Nonya Kueh

Sneak Peek - My Wedding

Today's the first day of my long awaited leave.. so I got some time for myself to finally upload some pictures from my wedding... These are not the official photographs (have not gotten the official ones from the photographer). These were taken by my girlfriends..

So here's a sneak peek.

The above 3 photos are shots of myself, my hubby (Andrew), my girlfriends and my hubby's church mates in the living room of my folks place.

This is a shot of my siblings all of which are younger than me.. Can you spot my sister?? :) I always joke that I have 4 brothers in that shot.. hahahaa :D My wedding bouquet is specially made by my mum (she's a florist! lucky me) from bright dark pink calla lilies.

This is me again at my in-law's.. with my fake smile.. Not sure why, I feel rather tense that day and I can't really smile properly.

Overall, I love my dress (love the beading and laces). Although (you can't see from the photos), I (with my sister) "ripped" some of the netting off the dress as people were constantly stepping on it..

Till the actual photos.. will just have to make do with these for now. :)

Tired Bride

It's my wedding tomorrow and I am ABSOLUTELY pooped.... I just came back from HK on Wednesday for work and I am shooting off to HK again next week.. and JP the week after.

Somehow because of the financial crisis and the economy going into recession, workload is getting extremely heavy for me... Nevertheless I should still give thanks to God that I still have a job..

I really hope that I get some break and rest before tomorrow........

Wedding Craze

In the midst of all my wedding preparation.. I get excited whenever I see anything that is wedding related.. Just list this one.. I love love these 2 Gold and Ivory Satin Lovebirds from cottonbirddesigns. They are simply adorable.. I love the idea of 2 lovebirds getting together saying their vows of holy matrimony.. okay.. I was daydreaming.. Nevertheless, these birds are perfect for cake toppers, ring holders, car decorations or just simply a wedding gift for a couple! I love the vintage lace on the bride bird's head.. Love love laces! I can't wait for my wedding in December!

Wonder if who of my friends can I hint to get me these? *hint hint*

Wedding Preparation

I am finally having my customary wedding on the 7 Dec. The wonderful thing about it is that my folks had finally agreed to just going through with a simple tea ceremony and lunch reception without having the trouble to prepare for a huge wedding dinner. This agreement saved us alot of hassle given that my hubby & I got married legally 2 years ago and have been staying with each other for about a year.

Anyway, I have made a preparation list for my wedding...
  1. Wedding Gown (custom made by D'sire http://www.dsire.com.sg/home.htm) - yet to see the final sketch though
  2. Wedding Shoes (TBC) - will shop around for them after my gown is ready.
  3. Groom's Tux (TBC) - may not be required if he wears the one from our ROM 2 years ago.
  4. Wedding Bouquet & Corsages (made by my mum) - yet to decide on the flowers
  5. Wedding Cake (booked by my cousin) - It's going to be white with pink flowers
  6. Catering for Lunch Reception (TBC) - need to find a caterer that does a marquee.
  7. Catering for my In-laws place (TBC) - need to find a caterer that does small quantity.
Wow.. that's quite alot of TBC and it's mid October already!! Looking at the bright side of things, my Mumbai trip got cancelled *yippie!* so I got time to work on the above in the next few weeks. Sigh... alots to do and so little time...
