Mellow Yellow

I have these lemonade chalcedony for quite some time now but never got the inspiration to work on them. Today, I made a necklace & earrings set. My very first set! What do you think? I must say, I hate taking photos of anything yellow, for some reason, the photos never turn out as great as I want to. *sulk*.

Hopefully you will be able to see the beauty in these jewels through these photos as I see them in real life.

Ps : The results from my Newsletter (see Mailchimp) was ENCOURAGING! About 2/5 of recipients opened the newsletter. However I got 2 SALES from my previous customers which was great 'cos it implies that they have read the newsletter and purchase from me again!

Ok... back to the new collection.

Featured : Wickedly Chic : Daily Ditties

I am so honored that one of my favorite earrings have been featured on Wickedly Chic's Daily Ditties. Daily Ditties should be your first stop every day to check out the newest, most chic & unquestionably fashionable indie items on the web. So don’t be a ditty, read the Daily Ditties!

Here's my earrings that was featured. It's A Day At The Beach Earrings (Seashell Version). I have made these earrings for a while now and it has a whooping 500 over views.. but it is still unsold *sulk*. The reason why this is a seashell version as the original version which was sold out had a starfish charm instead. :) I love the pastel blue & white colors of the freshwater pearls.

Here's my other favorite from this week's daily ditties. It is Pink Elephants Necklace by khalidahj. I love simple and chic style. Thus this beautiful necklace is just right up my alley. I love the beautiful peachy colors of the glassbead.

Poll Results : Symmetrical or Asymmetrical Earrings

*** Drum Roll *****

The results of the Poll : Symmetrical or Asymmetrical Earrings is SYMMETRICAL!

Most people love and have symmetrical earrings. Although there are some folks would are open to asymmetrical earrings as long as the designs are interesting and funky. I guess for most of us when we shop for a pair of earrings, our natural instinct is to buy a symmetrical one. Unless we are specifically out to buy a pair of asymmetrical earrings from the start of the search.

Based on the 37 votes that we had, 25 voted symmetrical while 11 voted asymmetrical. The minority of 1 vote did not wear any earrings. That means that about 69% of the general voters prefer symmetrical earrings while the rest of the 31% are open to asymmetrical ones.

Now you know......

The winner of my blog poll giveaway is Flamingo Junction! She will be receive my secret gift...

Poll : Symmetrical or Asymmetrical Earrings?

I was shopping with my poly friends yesterday.. We went to CK Tangs as my friend would like to buy a pair of earrings that she has her eye on. On our way there, she asked me how come I don't make any Asymmetrical earrings. My reply was I did but it seems like most people don't like asymmetrical earrings as I didn't manage to sell any.. so I decided to stick to symmetrical ones.

But I wonder if that is REALLY true... thus I decided to have a poll on my blog.. The poll question is, do you prefer symmetrical or asymmetrical earrings? If you were to buy a pair of earrings for yourself or a friend, would you get a symmetrical one or an asymmetrical one?

Please cast your vote and leave me a comment of your vote in this blog so that I can identify you. At the end of the poll, I will select a lucky winner who will receive a secret and new piece of jewelry!

Chinese New Year Inspiration

Chinese New Year is early this year... It's will be on the 26 & 27 Jan.. Here in Singapore, we get 2 days of holiday *yippee!* Although, this year I will have to give out red packets to my single / unmarried relatives *sulk :( * Yes.. it is a tradition for the married folks to give out red packets (with money of cos!) to the single / unmarried relatives.. I think I will just limit to children only (as long as they are still studying).. haha :)

Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays.

In celebration of the coming Chinese New Year, I am inspired to gift wrap all the orders made in my Etsy shop in Red Packets! How fun is that! :) This is only valid for those orders made in the month of January!

I have also made this new pair of earrings. Hopefully it will bring out Chinese New Year festive mood in my Etsy shop. What do you think? :)

New Collection - Blush

Want to introduce my new collection for the new year. It's call Blush. Basically, it revisited my old love for cluster earrings and decided to do a longer one this time as I get custom orders to do longer ones. In this collection, all the clusters are also designed in a V shape so that they look like a bunch of grapes with more on the top :) So far, I have made 2 of them and I intend to do more. Hopefully the response for them will turn out well. What do you think?

Poll Results : Which Cluster Earrings Are the Most Loved?

I would like to thank EVERYONE who has voted on my Blog Poll : Which Cluster Earrings Do You Love Best? I am so excited that the response was better than my first poll! :D

The results of the Poll are... *drum roll*Out of 25 voters, 48% voted Raspberry, 32% voted Icicles and 20% voted Wedding Blues. These 3 cluster earrings were the top. Another favorite from the blog comments that did not make it to the polls were the Lime & Aqua earrings. Thus Raspberry clusters won! It's amazing that these clusters were the VERY first ones that I made for the shop and for myself! The rich red color is amazing!

In honor of these results and the people who have casted their votes for the Raspberry clusters, I have made a pair of raspberry clusters to go to one LUCKY voters!....And the lucky winner goes to.....*drum roll* DevinPrather!!!Congratulations!!b

The blog poll has been fun and I can't wait to think of another topic for the polls!

New Poll : Which Cluster Earrings Do You Love Best?

One of the reason why I started making jewelry was my love for cluster earrings. They were the first staple design of earrings when I first started out in jewelry making. I simply adore them. Clusters can be made from just about ANY type of materials. I love using Czech vintage glass beads, freshwater pearls & crystals. I don't know why I just can't get enough of them. I think they are so simple and beautiful that they are a staple in ANY woman's wardrobe. You basically can match them with ANYTHING.. from laid back casuals to swanky formal.

Thus my latest poll, trying to find out which of my clusters are the most popular and favorite among the bloggers. You can check out the other clusters designs from my Etsy shop.. Here's the short cut link

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=106078&section_id=5148158

Just like the last poll, one lucky winner will win away (postage included) a cluster earrings of her choice. So remember to cast your vote and leave a comment on this blog post to tell me which you have selected! :D

Wind Beneath my Wings

I love charms.. and hopefully that shows in my works. A few months back, I was at my usual bead shop, I saw these beautiful angel wing charms. They were so beautiful and I bought all of them off the rack! (okay.. there were not many of them left :P). When I got home, I made a pair of earrings for myself! How selfish is that.. lol! :D (okay there are more in my shop) But ain't they pretty.. I love them so much that I used them in necklaces and other versions of earrings. That's not the end of the story...

Last Friday, had dinner with my college mates. We were meeting up to discuss my coming wedding. After dinner, we were window shopping at the nearby mall on our way back to the car.. We walked pass the new Thomas Sabo shop and I saw these!!! I was like.. Wait a minute.. I have those earrings too!! Of cos the Thomas Sabo version are more intricate (with all the details of the feathers) and they cost much more! :P

Well.. I was happy with my version.. although, Thomas Sabo's version on the display case was enough to make me drool.. Sigh.. another present that I hope my friends will buy me.. I need to make a wedding gifts list.. although none of them has to do with my hubby nor our wedding.. lol :D

Btw, I totally love the Thomas Sabo shop cos they are full of CHARMS! Need to save up for some..

Tiny Studs

I just listed these studs on my Etsy shop... Aren't they gorgeous... They were made from an assorted mix of vintage enamel flowers that I bought from a fellow Etsian. They come in the most beautiful and bright colors that you can take your pick in mixing and matching them. I love studs.. cos they are simple and cute.. and most of all, they do not get tangle in your long hair.. lol!
